Overview
We are seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join us as a General Manager in Training - Retail. This dynamic role offers a comprehensive pathway to develop leadership skills and operational expertise in a fast-paced retail environment. As a key member of our team, you will learn to oversee store operations, manage staff, and deliver exceptional customer service while preparing for future management responsibilities.
Duties
- Assist in managing daily store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient performance across all departments
- Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members to foster a high-performing retail team
- Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing strategies to maximize sales and control costs
- Lead shift management activities including cashiering, cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) systems operation, and customer service excellence
- Develop leadership skills by supervising staff, managing employee orientation programs, and supporting employee development initiatives
- Participate in budgeting processes and monitor financial performance through retail math and sales analysis
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, store policies, and operational procedures while maintaining a positive work environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail management or supervisory roles within the retail industry is highly preferred
- Strong skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and inventory control
- Demonstrated management experience with retail sales teams and proficiency with POS systems and merchandising techniques
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
- Proven leadership capabilities with experience supervising staff and managing store operations effectively
- Knowledge of retail math, pricing strategies, sales management, budgeting, and operational management principles
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and maintain high standards of customer service and phone etiquette
- Organizational skills with attention to detail in stocking, marketing initiatives, wireless sales support, and administrative tasks
- Experience in grocery or convenience store environments is advantageous but not required
