Space Center Aide
Location: Saratoga Springs
The Lion’s Gate Space Center of Lakeview Academy is looking for some additional help with running our space simulators for Lakeview students. We use space Star Trek episode-style missions as a playground for students to explore and hone the skills and knowledge they learn in the classroom.
This job is part time, about 10-20 hours a week during the school day, and on location at Lakeview Academy in Saratoga Springs. As a Space Center Aide, you will help facilitate space missions and make sure the kids have a fun and educational experience.
Responsibilities:
- Setting up and shutting down the simulators.
- Setting up and taking down away mission environments.
- Acting as characters in missions.
- Keeping the Space Center clean and organized.
- Assisting students with curriculum during missions.
- Troubleshooting technical issues with the simulators.
- Knowing how to use the simulator software.
- Optionally helping with after school missions.
- Assisting the Space Center Director with developing/preparing missions, stories, and content.
Preferred Qualifications:
- General knowledge of computers.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- General knowledge of AV equipment.
- Good with kids.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Compensation:
- Starting wage is $14 an hour.
