Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Seamstress Tailor to join our vibrant fashion retail team. Duties
- Perform clothing alterations and repairs with precision, ensuring proper fit and finish for both men's and women's wear
- Construct garments from patterns using sewing machines, hand sewing techniques, and pressing equipment
- Operate pressing machines to achieve crisp seams, smooth finishes, and professional presentation of finished products
- Assist customers by providing expert advice on fabric materials, garment fitting, and alteration options
- Manage garment construction projects from start to finish, including fabric cutting, stitching, fitting adjustments, and final pressing
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, sewing areas, and pressing equipment to ensure safety and efficiency
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in fashion retail or garment tailoring with a strong background in clothing alterations and garment construction
- Skilled in sewing machine operation, hand sewing techniques, and pressing machine use for professional finishing
- Knowledge of fabric materials, stitching methods, and garment fitting principles for both men's wear tailoring and women's wear tailoring
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements, pattern adjustments, and fabric consumption
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about alterations and custom apparel options
- Familiarity with garment sewing techniques including stitching precision and seam finishing
- Experience working with various fabric types such as cotton, wool, silk, polyester blends, etc.
