Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Schedule: Full time 40 hours/week in office
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting & Operations Specialist to work alongside our accounting and operations team supporting multiple related companies within the logistics, manufacturing, and trailer leasing industries. This role focuses on bookkeeping, accounting operations, and administrative support within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
The ideal candidate must have strong QuickBooks Online experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform bookkeeping and accounting support across multiple entities using QuickBooks Online
- Manage high-volume Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions
- Record incoming ACH, wire, check, and credit card payments
- Complete monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and general account maintenance
- Assist with month-end close processes and maintain organized accounting records
- Respond to client, carrier, and vendor questions regarding invoices, payments, and account activity
- Provide professional and responsive customer service while maintaining strong working relationships with clients, carriers, and vendors
- Assist with collections efforts and follow-up on outstanding balances
- Run customer credit checks and assist with managing customer credit limits based on company standards
- Assist with payroll processing twice per month
- Help maintain compliance and filing requirements, including:
- MCS-150 filings
- State tax filings
- 1099 preparation
- Other business-related filings and administrative requirements
- Support additional accounting, administrative, and operational functions as needed
Qualifications
- Strong experience with QuickBooks Online is required
- Experience with accrual-based accounting preferred
- Understanding of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, and general accounting principles
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities simultaneously
- Strong customer service and communication skills required
- Ability to professionally handle client, carrier, and vendor communications
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Must be willing to work in-office in Scottsdale, Arizona 5 days per week
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
