Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and hands-on Maintenance Technician / Production Welding Support Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for performing preventive maintenance (PM) on stamping presses, welding equipment, and tool room machinery while also providing direct support to production, including welding operations as needed.
The ideal candidate will have industrial maintenance experience, welding skills, and a willingness to learn, adapt, and wear multiple hats within the organization. This individual must be flexible, self-motivated, and committed to supporting production and continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on stamping presses, welding equipment, and tool room machinery.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
- Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential problems before failures occur.
- Perform emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain maintenance records and PM documentation.
- Support equipment reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Production & Welding Support
- Support production operations as needed, with a primary focus on welding activities.
- Perform MIG welding and basic fabrication work.
- Assist operators and production personnel in maintaining workflow and meeting production targets.
- Repair fixtures, racks, tooling, and production equipment through welding and fabrication.
- Ensure welding equipment is maintained and operating safely and efficiently.
- Help train and support team members when required.
General Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including Lockout/Tagout requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Work closely with Production, Tool Room, Quality, and Engineering teams.
- Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in various departments when business needs require.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
- Welding experience, preferably MIG welding.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and equipment reliability practices.
- Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing priorities.
- Good attendance record and strong work ethic.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment.
Preferred
- Experience maintaining metal stamping presses and related equipment.
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Tool room maintenance experience.
- Basic PLC troubleshooting knowledge.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience.
