Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pediatric Clinical Assistant ( Spanish & English Speaking) to join our team. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about pediatric healthcare and eager to develop their clinical skills in a dynamic outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will support physicians and nursing staff by performing essential clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring smooth patient flow and high-quality care delivery.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in outpatient pediatric settings.
- Take and record accurate vital signs, medical histories, and other relevant patient information using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and managing intake processes efficiently.
- Administer medications and injections following established protocols and maintain proper documentation.
- Support clinical operations by performing basic diagnostic tasks such as X-ray imaging or specimen collection when required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas, adhering to infection control standards.
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, coordinating follow-up appointments, and ensuring a positive experience for families.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is required.
- Proven experience in pediatrics , hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration practices.
- Experience working with EHR systems and medical-surgical procedures in outpatient environments.
- Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to support diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification must be current.
- Prior experience in GRITS and Children Vaccination.
