Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Pre-Toddler Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will lead classroom activities designed to foster developmental growth for children in the pre-toddler age group, typically from one to two . Your expertise will help create a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment that supports early childhood development, literacy, and social-emotional skills. As a leader in our program, you will mentor assistant teachers, implement curriculum plans, and ensure a safe and stimulating space for young learners to thrive.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for pre-toddlers.
- Lead daily classroom activities, including lesson planning, circle time, sensory play, and early literacy exercises aligned with best practices in early childhood education.
- Manage classroom behavior with positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques to foster a respectful learning environment.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff, providing guidance on classroom management and instructional strategies.
- Collaborate with families to communicate children's progress, developmental milestones, and any special needs or interventions required.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, health regulations, and licensing requirements related to childcare and preschool settings.
- Incorporate specialized approaches such as Montessori methods or inclusive practices for children with special education needs or requiring early intervention services.
Experience
- Degree or credits in Early Childhood Education
- Prior classroom experience working with children in early childhood settings, preferably in pre-toddler or toddler care environments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Experience developing curricula that include literacy education, math concepts, physical education activities, and sensory learning opportunities.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment tools.
- Strong communication skills for engaging effectively with children, families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Knowledge of special education practices and early intervention programs is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in private schools or daycare centers that emphasize early childhood education methods such as Montessori is a plus.
