Tosh Farms is seeking dependable and motivated individuals to join our Buena Vista sow farm team as a Sow Herdsman. This position is a great opportunity for someone interested in beginning a long-term career in agriculture and animal production — no prior experience or college degree required.
The Sow Herdsman is responsible for providing excellent and comprehensive animal care throughout the entire breeding lifecycle of our swine herd under the direction of the Department Head and Farm Manager.

In this role, you should expect to:

Work in a cohesive team environment to provide excellent daily essential care to the swine herd

Assist with farrowing, breeding, and gestation operations

Move animals using safe handling practices

Wean pigs according to farm protocols

Load and unload pigs as scheduled

Provide proactive and responsive care to promote herd wellness

Adhere to all biosecurity standards, including shower-in/shower-out procedures

Help ensure cleanliness and sanitation of work areas

Work weekend and holiday hours on a rotational schedule

Champion a culture focused on safety and animal welfare

Follow all company policies and procedures

Perform additional duties as assigned

- Starting salary: $32,285 annually
