Duties
- Prepare and assemble deli and bakery items, ensuring adherence to food safety standards and quality expectations
- Use knife skills and slicing techniques to portion meats, cheeses, baked goods, and other products efficiently and safely
- Operate food preparation equipment such as slicers, ovens, mixers, and other kitchen tools with proper safety procedures
- Assist in meal preparation and food production for in-store displays or catering events as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, following safety standards in production and food handling protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions about products, offering recommendations, and serving customers with enthusiasm
- Handle heavy lifting when restocking supplies or moving large bakery or deli items safely
Skills
- Proficiency in knife skills, slicing techniques, and general food preparation methods
- Experience in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of food safety management practices
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for portioning, pricing, or inventory tasks accurately
- Familiarity with food preparation equipment operation and safety standards in production settings
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude and effective communication abilities
- Knowledge of culinary techniques including cooking, sensory evaluation, and food handling best practices
- Physical ability to stand for long periods, perform manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
