ALKO Hotels is looking to add a Maintenance Technician to our team! Must be available to work weekends.
MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Responsible for overseeing and ensuring the health of the physical hotel property including equipment, appliances, furniture, fixtures, utilities and amenities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Proficiently troubleshoot issues that may arise with HVAC, telecommunications, appliances, water heaters, pool pumps, plumbing and chemical regulating equipment, and lighting.
2. Ensures work orders are properly addressed and repairs documented.
3. Keeps the hotel grounds neat in appearance.
4. Keep all mechanical areas in a neat and orderly condition.
5. Maintain tools and ensure their proper handling.
6. Carry out inspection on public areas on a daily basis in case of problems arising unexpectedly.
7. Follow a preventative maintenance schedule and commit to inspecting a minimum # of rooms on a daily & monthly basis.
8. Guarantee that projects are all promptly accomplished and in line with appropriate specifications.
9. Works together with the General Manager and Executive Housekeeper to discuss any aspect of operations which will involve the maintenance department.
10. Proactively monitor the property, landscaping, exterior, interior walls & carpets, and parking for any maintenance concerns.
11. Engage in flexible work schedules to be able to perform well during emergencies.
12. Assist in remodeling and construction of new projects as may be required
13. Assist Housekeeping team with property cleanliness and daily maintenance
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
1. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
2. Ability to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs occasionally.
3. Standing/walking up to two miles per day on cement, tile, asphalt, and carpet.
4. Reaching overhead, pushing and pulling; repetitive motions of bending, kneeling, stooping, and twisting.
WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Working with and exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, dust, and noise.
2. Must adhere to Company’s safety standards and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. A General Education Degree, or vocational training certificate in mechanical, plumbing, architectural or electronics fields with two to five years practical and theoretical experience in maintenance.
2. Pleasant demeanor.
3. Ability to handle internal and external clients with high degree of tolerance, diplomacy, and tact.
4. Commendable ability to manage stressful working situations.

Pay: From $19.80 per hour
