Design-Build Construction Project Manager / Estimator / Business Development
Competitive salary will be based on experience, estimating ability, design-build experience, software knowledge, and overall qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, pay applications, change orders, and project reporting.
- Manage subcontractor performance, project sequencing, and problem resolution.
- Monitor project costs and help ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
- Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication with all stakeholders.
- Deliver projects safely, on time, and to quality standards.
Design-Build / Preconstruction
- Work with clients during the early planning stages to understand project goals, budget, and schedule.
- Assist with conceptual layouts, preliminary planning, and project scope development.
- Coordinate with architects and engineers throughout the design-build process.
- Review plans for constructability, value engineering, budget, and scheduling opportunities.
- Identify potential design issues, permitting concerns, and project risks before construction begins.
- Help transition projects from concept through estimating, design, permitting, and construction.
Estimating
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents.
- Prepare conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, takeoffs, and proposals.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing.
- Identify scope gaps, cost risks, and schedule impacts.
- Prepare value engineering recommendations and change order pricing.
- Use estimating software and Excel to develop accurate project costs.
Business Development
- Build relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and industry partners.
- Identify new project opportunities and support company growth.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and proposal reviews.
- Maintain strong customer relationships that encourage repeat business.
- Represent the company professionally throughout the project lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of construction project management experience.
- Design-build construction experience preferred.
- Experience with commercial, industrial, institutional, or tenant improvement projects.
- Strong knowledge of estimating, budgeting, scheduling, project financials, and subcontractor management.
- Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Experience preparing estimates, proposals, change orders, and project scopes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, STACK, or similar platforms.
- Good communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.
- Existing relationships within the regional construction industry are a plus.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
