Job Purpose:
- The Behavioral Tech II position is integral to the efficient functioning of the assigned unit(s). They will, by virtue of their role, have primary consumer contact and, in that role, will have influence on consumer treatment and progress. As such, Behavioral Techs are professional staff members with responsibility for supervision and assistance in daily living skills, ensuring safety and well-being of consumers, as well as maintenance of a clean, secure therapeutic environment in cooperation with a variety of disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans for clients.
- Monitor and document client behavior and progress, reporting any significant changes to the clinical team.
- Provide direct care and support to clients, including assistance with daily living activities and therapeutic interventions.
- Ensure the safety and security of clients by maintaining a structured and supportive environment.
- Facilitate group activities and therapeutic sessions as directed by clinical staff.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in behavioral health care.
- Respond to emergencies and crises in a calm and effective manner, following established protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with clients and staff.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficient in crisis intervention techniques.
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
