Job Summary
Adventure Boat Share/Holiday Marine is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Staff Accountant/Full-Charge Bookkeeper to join our growing team. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions for multiple related companies, ensuring accurate financial records and supporting month-end reporting. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Desktop.
- Record journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and loan accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Process customer payments and vendor invoices.
- Assist with payroll processing and related reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with month-end close.
- Record fixed asset purchases and depreciation schedules.
- Track and reconcile intercompany transactions between related businesses.
- Assist with sales tax reporting and other compliance filings.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
- Work closely with management to provide accurate financial information and support business decisions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop.
- Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Understanding of general ledger accounting and journal entries.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Ability to manage multiple companies while maintaining accuracy and organization.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is preferred but not required with relevant experience.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with multiple entities or intercompany accounting.
- Experience in the marine, retail, rental, or service industry is a plus.
- Experience preparing information for CPAs and year-end tax filings.
