We are seeking a skilled and motivated Collision Repair Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring vehicles to their original condition after accidents or damage, utilizing your expertise in automotive structural repair, auto body repair, and cosmetic refinishing. Your hands-on skills in welding, fabrication, and vehicle maintenance will ensure each vehicle is repaired to the highest standards. Responsibilities
- Perform automotive structural repairs using welding repair techniques such as MIG welding, soldering, and automotive welding equipment to restore vehicle frames and panels.
- Conduct auto body repairs including dent removal, sheet metal work, sanding, and automotive cosmetic refinishing to achieve a smooth, factory-like finish.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for disassembly, assembly, auto parts installation, and detailed auto restoration projects.
- Apply automotive painting techniques including auto painting and airless paint spraying to ensure a flawless appearance.
- Repair or replace auto glass and perform automotive parts installation with precision.
- Use fabrication repair techniques involving sheet metal shaping and fabrication to meet specific repair needs.
- Maintain detailed documentation of repairs performed and communicate effectively with customers regarding repair estimates and progress.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks as needed, including heavy lifting and mechanical troubleshooting using mechanical knowledge.
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications while adhering to quality control procedures.
Qualifications
- Dealership experience or extensive background working as an automotive body technician is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, soldering, welding repair, and automotive welding equipment is essential.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and other workshop equipment.
- Experience with automotive structural repair, auto restoration, sheet metal work, and automotive cosmetic repair techniques.
- Knowledge of auto painting processes including auto painting and airless paint spraying methods.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs and estimates.
- Familiarity with auto estimating software or processes is a plus but not required.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is necessary for some roles within the team.
