North Alabama Restorations is a fast-growing insurance restoration contractor with a busy in-house cabinet shop. We’re looking for a hands-on Cabinet Shop Manager who can lead our small team while continuing to build high-quality cabinets.
This is not a desk job. We need a strong cabinet maker who will spend the majority of their time on the tools building and leading by example, while also driving quality, scheduling, and accountability to eliminate costly go-backs and errors.
About the Role
- Lead a team of 8 (2 builders, prep, spray, and two 2-man install crews)
- Build cabinets daily while overseeing workflow and quality
- Reduce rework and improve on-time delivery
- Maintain high standards in a fast-paced restoration environment
Key Responsibilities
- Work as a lead builder on custom cabinets
- Plan and schedule daily shop work
- Perform quality checks at every stage (build → prep → spray → install)
- Train and coach team members on best practices
- Coordinate with install crews and project managers
- Help implement simple processes and checklists to improve efficiency
- Track materials and maintain shop organization
What We’re Looking For
- Strong cabinet-making experience (minimum 5+ years preferred)
- Previous leadership or lead experience in a cabinet shop is a big plus
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on doing it right the first time
- Reliable, accountable, and able to hold others to high standards
- Ability to read plans and manage multiple jobs
- Positive attitude and team-player mindset
