Job Summary:
We are looking for a dependable, customer-focused Cashier to join our team in a fast-paced grocery store environment. This role is essential in providing a positive shopping experience for our customers by ensuring smooth, accurate transactions and delivering friendly service. In addition to checkout duties, you will help promote our customer loyalty program and support other store departments during slower periods.
Key Responsibilities:

Welcome customers and provide prompt, courteous service at checkout.

Accurately scan and bag grocery items while handling cash, credit, and other payment methods.

Promote and assist customers with enrollment in the store’s loyalty or rewards program.

Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked register area, including bags, receipt paper, and supplies.

Resolve customer questions, concerns, or issues with professionalism and care.

Monitor product codes (e.g., produce PLUs) and be alert for pricing accuracy.

Support other store departments (e.g., stocking, bagging, front-end cleaning) as needed during slow periods.

Follow store policies and procedures, including those related to safety, sanitation, and loss prevention.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous experience in grocery or retail customer service is a plus.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Comfortable handling money and using POS systems.
