O&G Industries, Inc., an innovative and diversified construction company based out of Torrington, CT, is seeking Mechanics (Truck & Heavy Equipment) to join our team at our various repair facility locations (Torrington, Southbury, Danbury, New Milford, Bridgeport, and Stamford). We are a highly respected leader in our field and ranked as one of the top construction firms in the Northeast.
This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of trucks and heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Union membership is required at the time of hire or within the applicable application window.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, transmissions, steering, electrical systems, and other mechanical components
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment and paving equipment components
- Remove and replace heavy equipment and truck components as needed
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
- Run diagnostic tests and interpret results accurately
- Perform Federal Motor Carrier periodic inspections
- Use power, machine, and hand tools safely
- Follow all repair shop regulations, safety procedures, and standards
