Position Overview:
The Fleet Operations Assistant supports the administration and day-to-day operation of fleet vehicles. This role assists mechanics with scheduling and performing preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and minor repairs. Responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining vehicle systems, operating and parking vehicles and equipment, preparing maintenance reports, and ensuring vehicles are clean, fueled, and ready for use. The position also monitors inventory levels and helps facilitate the readiness and disposal of fleet assets. The ideal candidate is organized, mechanically inclined, and capable of working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:

Supports fleet administration and the operation of a fleet of vehicles.

Helps Mechanics by scheduling or performing preventative and scheduled maintenance and repairs on a fleet of cars and trucks.

Reads and understands vehicle manuals, drawings, and technical instructions from mechanics and management.

Diagnoses vehicular problems requiring limited skill using vehicle testing gear.

Operates and parks vehicles and various material-handling equipment, including forklifts.

Cleans, washes, lubricates, and refuels vehicles.

Inspects, adjusts, and maintains vehicle batteries, belts, hoses, wipers, tires, and other parts and equipment.

Prepares and documents vehicle maintenance reports.

Monitors fleet inventory and fuel tank levels and retrieves supplies or informs management of replenishment needs.

Readies vehicles for employee use or disposal.
