Position Overview
The selected clinicians will work collaboratively with correctional, medical, and behavioral health staff to create a therapeutic and recovery-focused environment while delivering evidence-based treatment services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive Bio-Psycho-Social Assessments
- Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices
- Provide individual counseling and therapeutic interventions
- Facilitate psychoeducational and treatment-focused group counseling sessions
- Apply ASAM criteria in assessment, treatment planning, and level-of-care recommendations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
- Support discharge planning and re-entry preparation when applicable
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in electronic medical record systems
- Foster a safe, recovery-oriented treatment environment within a correctional setting
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Behavioral Health, or a related field
- Active Rhode Island license in good standing as one of the following:
- LCDP
- LCDCS
- LMHC
- LICSW
- LMFT
- Demonstrated experience diagnosing and treating substance use disorders
- Working knowledge of ASAM Criteria
- Experience facilitating both individual and group counseling
- Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in correctional, forensic, residential, or community behavioral health settings
- Bilingual Spanish-speaking ability
- Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems

Pay: $44.00 - $46.00 per hour
