Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and versatile Handyman/Carpenter to join our facilities maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and installation tasks across residential, commercial, and manufacturing environments. Your expertise will ensure that building interiors, mechanical systems, electrical equipment, plumbing, and facilities infrastructure remain in optimal condition. Responsibilities
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on building interior elements, including walls, ceilings, doors, windows, and flooring using carpentry and painting skills.
- Perform electrical work such as troubleshooting electrical equipment, repairing wiring systems, and interpreting schematics.
- Maintain HVAC systems by inspecting, repairing, and replacing components as needed to ensure optimal operation.
- Repair plumbing systems including fixtures, pipes, drains, and water supply lines while adhering to safety standards.
- Operate hand tools and power tools efficiently for various repair tasks; utilize schematics and technical manuals for accurate troubleshooting.
- Conduct welding tasks when necessary to repair or fabricate metal components.
- Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to identify electrical issues; maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Supervise or assist with projects involving facilities equipment maintenance or renovations; coordinate with team members or contractors as needed.
- Support customer service initiatives by addressing facility-related concerns promptly and professionally.
- Assist with maintenance painting projects to improve the appearance of interior spaces.
Experience
- Proven experience in maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) within residential or manufacturing settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, HVAC system repair, welding, and facilities equipment maintenance.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams for troubleshooting purposes.
- Experience with CMMS software for work order management and record keeping is preferred.
- Supervising or leadership experience in a maintenance environment is advantageous.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately; proficient in using hand tools and electrical testing devices such as ohmmeters.
- Excellent communication skills in English; capable of collaborating effectively with team members and stakeholders.
