We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems across diverse heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, tire service, alignment checks, and air brake inspections to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
- Fabricate and modify parts using welding and hand tools to meet specific repair needs or customizations.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during maintenance or repair procedures.
- Read schematics, technical manuals, and service bulletins to accurately identify issues and execute repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems on heavy trucks and industrial equipment.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
Skills
- Extensive dealership experience with heavy diesel engines and equipment is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in fabrication techniques including welding, soldering, and the use of power tools for equipment repair.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Ability to interpret schematics for electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, suspension components, HVAC systems, and vehicle systems.
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive repair including brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, tire service, alignment procedures, and vehicle maintenance.
- Skilled in diagnosing issues related to diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and electrical components using specialized diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment maintenance such as power tools usage for assembly or repairs on heavy machinery.
- Experience working with vehicle mechanics for truck drivers or service technician roles involving heavy truck repair.
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with excellent hand tool skills for precise repairs in tight spaces.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while handling large parts or equipment components during repairs or installations.
