The "No-Call" Perfusion Jackpot
Let's be completely candid: positions like this do not stay open long. You get to manage high-level, complex cardiac architectures during the day, and when your shift ends, your time is 100% your own. No midnight call-backs, no ruined weekends—just pure, high-yield clinical execution during daylight hours.
Clinical Scope & Emergency Preparedness
- CPB Management: Flawlessly execute equipment set-up, priming, initiation, flow rate optimization, temperature management, ultrafiltration, and the delicate weaning/resumption of natural circulation.
- Cerebral & Myocardial Protection: Command advanced blood conservation, complex cardioplegia delivery, systemic hypothermia, and specialized Selective Antegrade and Retrograde Cerebral Perfusion for complex arch repairs.
- Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS): Manage advanced temporary assist devices including ECMO (V-A and V-V), Impella platforms, and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP).
- Crisis Autonomy: Demonstrate flawless, split-second critical thinking under intense pressure. You must be fully capable of independently managing catastrophic circuit failures, including Power Failures, Oxygenator Failures, and Massive Air Emboli.
