Position Summary
General Telecom, Inc. is seeking an organized, dependable, and hands-on Warehouse & Facilities Manager. This person will be responsible for maintaining an orderly warehouse, accurately tracking company assets, keeping the office, warehouse, and yard clean and safe, and transporting equipment and materials when needed.
The ideal candidate takes pride in staying organized, notices problems before being asked, and can complete minor repairs and maintenance. This is a hands-on position for someone comfortable managing inventory, organizing materials, maintaining the property, and driving to pick up or deliver equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
- Organize and maintain the warehouse, office storage areas, and yard.
- Establish designated locations for tools, equipment, materials, and company assets.
- Maintain accurate inventory and asset records.
- Manage the check-in and check-out of tools and equipment.
- Conduct routine inventory counts and investigate missing or misplaced items.
- Label, organize, and properly store tools, materials, and equipment.
- Prepare and stage materials and equipment for upcoming projects.
- Receive deliveries and verify quantities and condition.
- Identify damaged, missing, or low-stock items and report them promptly.
- Drive company vehicles to pick up and deliver tools, equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload equipment and materials.
- Coordinate pickups and deliveries with employees, vendors, suppliers, and project locations.
- Maintain delivery, pickup, and equipment-transfer records.
- Keep assigned company vehicles clean and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Keep the warehouse, office, yard, restrooms, and common areas clean and presentable.
- Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance around the office, warehouse, and yard.
- Assemble shelving, furniture, storage systems, and other equipment as needed.
- Handle basic tasks such as replacing lights, repairing doors, patching walls, pressure washing, and maintaining storage areas.
- Coordinate qualified contractors for repairs requiring specialized or licensed work.
- Identify and correct potential warehouse and facility safety hazards.
- Develop practical systems that improve organization, cleanliness, and asset accountability.
- Perform other warehouse, delivery, and facility-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with limited supervision.
- Comfortable performing hands-on maintenance and minor repairs.
- General knowledge of tools, equipment, and basic building maintenance.
- Experience with inventory, warehouse operations, facilities maintenance, construction, delivery work, or a related field is preferred.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to maintain inventory records.
- Good communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Comfortable driving company pickup trucks, vans, and trailers as required.
- Ability to safely load and secure equipment for transportation.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment; forklift experience is preferred.
- Telecom or construction industry experience is helpful but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to load, secure, transport, and unload tools, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and warehouse equipment.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles for local and occasional out-of-area pickups and deliveries.
What Success Looks Like
The warehouse, office, and yard remain clean, organized, and safe. Company assets are accurately recorded and stored in their assigned locations. Employees can quickly locate the tools and materials they need, and pickups and deliveries are completed safely and on time. Facility problems are addressed before they become larger issues.
