Job Title: Wellness Express Driver (Per Diem)
Job Summary: Wellness Express Drivers provide transportation to and from medical appointments within a radius of 50 miles for senior citizens and disabled individuals who live in Southern Saratoga County. When rides are not sufficient to equal a minimum 4 hour shift, other duties may be assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Driving agency vehicle to provide door to door escort for senior citizens and disabled individuals to and from medical appointments.
· Coordination of on-going transportation schedule, including communication with the Senior Services Staff,about transportation to and from medical appointments.
· Coordinate daily shift coverage with other drivers for all vacations and absences from work
· Completion of rides through the Ride Scheduler database within a specific time frame.
· Responsible for completing a Driver log during each shift with activity.
· Ongoing community outreach to make agencies and community members aware of the available services.
· Participation in on-going supervision with program staff concerning daily operations of the program.
· Promptly reporting all vehicle maintenance issues to a Program Associate.
· Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of agency vehicle and maintenance.
· Other duties as assigned.
Telecommuting and Remote Policy:
Working remotely is not a viable option due to the nature of the position.
Skills Required:
· Above average verbal communication and customer service skills.
· A team player with a positive, “can-do” attitude coupled with strong work ethic.
· Self-starter requiring limited supervision.
· Familiarity with the needs of senior citizens and disabled individuals.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalency.
· Must possess a clean and valid NYS Driver’s License with minimum of three years driving experience and record acceptable to agency insurance.
- Must be able to lift and carry 30 pound
