Position: Industrial E&I Electrician
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Industrial E&I Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical and instrumentation systems in a manufacturing, refinery, pulp and paper, power generation, or heavy industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with motor controls, PLCs, instrumentation, control systems, and industrial electrical equipment while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems up to 480V (or higher if qualified).
- Install and terminate conduit, cable tray, wire, and electrical components.
- Diagnose and repair motors, motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, transformers, breakers, and control circuits.
- Install, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain instrumentation including pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, and blueprints.
- Perform PLC troubleshooting and assist with automation systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms).
- Install and troubleshoot control panels, junction boxes, and field instruments.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Test circuits and equipment using multimeters, meggers, loop calibrators, and other electrical testing equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, and company safety standards.
- Assist with plant shutdowns, outages, and startup activities as needed.
- Document completed work orders and maintenance activities accurately.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of industrial electrical and instrumentation experience preferred.
- Experience working in manufacturing, power plants, refineries, chemical plants, shipyards, or pulp & paper mills.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, instrumentation, and process controls.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and motor controls preferred.
- Familiarity with VFDs, MCCs, transmitters, and industrial automation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have dependable transportation and be able to pass a drug screen and background check (if required).
Preferred Certifications
- Journeyman Electrician License (preferred)
- NCCER Industrial Electrical
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- NFPA 70E Training
- TWIC Card (if required for site access)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Climb ladders, work at heights, and in confined spaces.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, nights, and outage schedules as required.
This position is ideal for someone with a strong industrial maintenance background who is comfortable working on both electrical power systems and instrumentation/control systems to maximize plant reliability and production uptime.
Pay: $34.00 - $36.00 per hour
