Duties
- Safely operate box trucks and commercial vehicles with manual transmissions, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load, unload, and secure furniture items using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling techniques
- Assist customers with furniture placement inside their homes or businesses, providing excellent customer service throughout the process
- Load and unload deliveries efficiently while ensuring items are protected from damage during transit
- Follow designated routes accurately, managing delivery schedules to meet customer expectations
- Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and dispatchers to coordinate deliveries and address any issues promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance needs or safety concerns
Experience
- Prior delivery driver experience, especially with furniture or large items preferred
- Warehouse experience involving heavy lifting, moving, or equipment operation such as forklifts or pallet jacks
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is a plus DOT MEDICAL CARD
- Familiarity with route driving and load & unload procedures in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and moving furniture safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of manual transmission vehicles is advantageous
- Customer service skills that ensure positive interactions with clients during deliveries
