Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Handyman to join our dynamic facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, electrical equipment, plumbing systems, and building interior components to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Conduct repairs using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics to troubleshoot issues across various facilities systems.
- Maintain and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, switches, outlets, and electrical equipment using appropriate tools such as ohmmeters and schematics.
- Carry out plumbing repairs including pipe fixing, leak detection, drain cleaning, and maintenance of plumbing systems.
- Execute painting tasks for both residential and commercial spaces to uphold aesthetic standards and protect surfaces.
- Supervise or assist with maintenance painting projects and oversee small-scale carpentry tasks such as door repairs or fixture installations.
- Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and manage inventory of maintenance supplies.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate complex repair projects while providing excellent customer service to internal clients or tenants.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while working with electrical systems, welding equipment, or when performing building interior maintenance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in general maintenance, repair operations (MRO), or facilities maintenance within manufacturing or commercial environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics interpretation.
- Electrical experience including wiring repairs, electrical equipment troubleshooting, and use of testing devices like ohmmeters.
- Skilled in plumbing system maintenance—leak repairs, pipe fitting, drain cleaning—and HVAC system repair including troubleshooting thermostats and ventilation issues.
- Knowledge of carpentry tasks such as framing, door repairs or installing fixtures; experience with residential painting is a plus.
- Familiarity with CMMS software for work order management and inventory control.
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams related to electrical wiring or mechanical systems.
- Excellent communication skills in English; capable of supervising or leading small teams when needed.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with experience supervising maintenance projects or teams preferred.
