Remote Entry Level: Sales Account Executive - West Coast PST
About Us
We are a leading provider of large-scale voter, consumer, and constituent data. For more than 50 years, we have delivered one of the nation’s most accurate and frequently updated voter files, along with audience, analytics, and data solutions used by political campaigns, advocacy organizations, nonprofits, academic institutions, media organizations, and commercial marketers.
Our clients use our data to better understand, target, model, and engage audiences across digital, direct mail, phone, canvassing, research, fundraising, and analytical channels. We operate within strict legal, regulatory, contractual, privacy, and security standards governing responsible data use.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated Sales Account Executive to help grow new business and build long-term client relationships. This is an early-career, quota-carrying sales role for someone with 2 to 5 years of experience who is comfortable prospecting, managing a pipeline, presenting solutions, closing business, and supporting clients after the sale.
The Account Executive will sell voter, consumer, audience, and data solutions to political campaigns, advocacy organizations, consultants, nonprofits, media organizations, digital agencies, and commercial marketers. Success in this role requires curiosity, strong communication skills, sales discipline, and the ability to understand how clients can use data to improve targeting, outreach, analytics, fundraising, research, and digital activation.
This is primarily a new-business role, though the Account Executive will also help manage and grow existing client relationships through renewals, upsells, and cross-sells. The individual will regularly travel to trade shows, client meetings, industry conferences, and other events to represent the company, build relationships, and pitch solutions in person.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and generate new business through outbound outreach, referrals, trade shows, conferences, client meetings, inbound leads, and industry research.
- Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, qualifying, discovery, demonstrations, proposal development, negotiation, closing, and post-sale account management.
- Travel to trade shows, conferences, client meetings, and industry events to meet prospective clients, present solutions, and develop new business opportunities in person.
- Build relationships with political consultants, campaign staff, advocacy organizations, nonprofits, agencies, media organizations, and commercial data buyers.
- Learn and communicate voter file, consumer data, audience activation, data delivery, analytics, and modeling capabilities in a clear, consultative manner.
- Identify client needs and recommend appropriate data, audience, licensing, delivery, and integration solutions.
- Prepare counts, proposals, pricing materials, and follow-up communications in coordination with internal sales, operations, data, and technical teams.
- Maintain an accurate and organized sales pipeline, activity history, forecasts, and next steps in the company CRM.
- Meet or exceed assigned revenue, activity, and pipeline-development goals.
- Manage client relationships after closing, including renewals, expansion opportunities, issue resolution, and coordination with internal teams.
- Represent the company professionally in virtual and in-person client interactions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Political Science, Marketing, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 2 to 5 years of quota-carrying sales, business development, account executive, or account management experience.
- Demonstrated record of meeting or exceeding sales, revenue, or activity goals.
- Experience selling data, SaaS, digital advertising, media, technology, research, or related services is preferred.
- Interest in, familiarity with, or willingness to learn the political, advocacy, nonprofit, media, and data industries.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable presenting and pitching solutions in person at trade shows, conferences, and client meetings.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly for client meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities, priorities, and follow-up timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly around proposals, pricing, client requirements, and sales documentation.
- Experience using CRM software and standard business tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
