Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including data entry, journal entries, and transaction coding using accounting software such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, or Quicken
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and subsidiary ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently while maintaining proper documentation
- Prepare financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Perform payroll processing tasks accurately, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies
- Conduct account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies or errors for prompt resolution
- Assist with budgeting activities and support audit preparations by maintaining organized financial records
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or Quicken; familiarity with multiple systems is preferred
- Solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
- Experience with payroll processing, bank reconciliation, account analysis, and financial report writing
- Ability to work independently with excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external auditors
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and non-profit or corporate accounting practices is a plus
