Part-Time Kennel Assistant

- One weekend day each week
- Alternating holidays
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Reid Veterinary Center is a busy, compassionate small animal veterinary practice dedicated to providing exceptional care for our patients and outstanding service to our clients. We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Part-Time Kennel Assistant to join our team and help care for our boarding and hospitalized pets.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for boarding and hospitalized dogs and cats
- Feed, medicate (as directed), and provide fresh water
- Walk and exercise dogs
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain kennels, runs, cages, and treatment areas
- Monitor pets for changes in appetite, behavior, or overall health and report concerns to the veterinary team
- Assist with boarding admissions and discharges
- Wash dishes, laundry, and bedding
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe facility
- Deliver compassionate, attentive care to every patient
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Previous kennel, animal shelter, pet daycare, grooming, or veterinary experience is a plus, but not required
- Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes and temperaments
- Strong work ethic with excellent reliability and attendance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Passion for animal welfare and patient care
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout an 8-hour shift
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary environment
- Ability to safely restrain animals when needed
