American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring cardiac ICU experience and Epic proficiency.
-
Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a hospital setting
-
Care for critically ill cardiovascular patients including post cardiac surgery, CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and VAD patients
-
Estimated patient ratios of 1:1-2
-
36 hours per week on a Day/Night rotation (3x12 hour shifts)

Day shift hours 7:00-19:30 and Night shift hours 19:00-7:30

Up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period, with Saturday/Sunday for day shift and Friday/Saturday for night shift
-
Rotating holiday coverage required
-
Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity

Utilizes Epic EMR
-
Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of cardiac ICU experience preferred
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred

Skilled in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, Swan-Ganz/PA line monitoring, conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and arterial/central line management
-
Additional skills include CVVHD/CRRT, IABP, Impella, epicardial pacing wire care, sheath removal, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips

Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program

Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role; charge RN acceptable as second reference; no coworker references accepted

Provide direct nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular ICU patients, including pre/post cardiac catheterization and post cardiac surgery cases

Complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon signing contract, as this is a time-sensitive requirement for credentialing

Locals accepted at the same rate

RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less

Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility

Current employees of the health system are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this facility
