Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Registered Care (RC) professional to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive patient care across a variety of clinical settings, including acute, long-term, and community-based environments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical procedures, patient assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration, ensuring high-quality care delivery. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform treatment plans.
- Administer medications via injection, IV infusion, or other routes following aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization (including cardiac and urinary), tube feeding, and wound care with precision.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately, documenting all patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes in compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations by collecting specimens for laboratory testing, processing samples, and coordinating with laboratory personnel.
- Provide emergency response support in critical situations such as trauma incidents or acute pain episodes using critical care procedures.
- Support patients across diverse settings including hospital medicine units, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, hospice & palliative care environments, and assisted living communities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans for individuals with complex needs such as developmental disabilities or memory care requirements.
- Ensure infection control practices are strictly followed during all procedures to maintain aseptic technique and prevent cross-contamination.
- Educate patients and families on health management strategies including medication administration, nutrition, mobility aids like Hoyer lifts, and discharge planning.
Experience
- Proven experience working within hospital settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers; ICU or PICU experience is highly valued.
- Strong background in emergency medicine, trauma medicine, or critical care environments with familiarity in trauma response protocols.
- Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth for documentation and patient management.
- Skilled in performing advanced clinical procedures including IV insertion, phlebotomy, lab specimen collection/processing, and aseptic techniques.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations such as pediatrics (including neonatal resuscitation), geriatrics (including dementia & Alzheimer’s care), behavioral health patients, or individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate documentation of diagnoses; familiarity with CPT coding is a plus.
- Prior roles involving medical-surgical nursing, home & community care, hospice & palliative medicine or occupational health are advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations efficiently while maintaining compassionate patient-centered care standards.
