Job Overview
Weekly run from our Ocala location to our Canton, MI location, picking up freight from multiple vendors on the return leg. Pays hourly, food and incidentals paid for as well.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, and tankers, on over-the-road (OTR) routes and dedicated delivery schedules
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and inspections in compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs, and ensure trucks meet safety standards before each trip
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery status, and any issues encountered during transitSkills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on freight delivery across long distances
- Strong knowledge of logistics cargo handling, truck loading/unloading, and securing loads for transport
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbed trucks, tanker trucks, and automobile transportation methods
- Proficiency in GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and execution
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and confidently
- Understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety compliance standards
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
Pay: $1,200.00 - $1,400.00 per week
