The Medical Assistant: SSTAR is hiring a compassionate Medical Assistant for our fast-paced team. If you are a graduate of an accredited school but do not have your RMA yet, SSTAR will pay for your exam and give you 90 days to get certified!
HOURLY WAGE RANGE: $19-21
Signing Bonus: $1,000.00

Duties & Responsibilities
-
Assists in the maintenance of patient flow; including weight/height, vital signs, medication review, chief complaint and patient preparation as needed.

Assist physicians with exams as required.

Fill in as back up Health Unit Coordinator during their absence.

Update clinical care guidelines into HER system.
-
Triage incoming telephone calls.
-
Schedule and cancel appointments in EMR system.

Submit application for PT-1 form via www.mass.gov website.

Assists with completion of paperwork.

Maintains adequate stocking of exam rooms on a weekly basis.

Completion of daily DRVS reports.

Disposes of biohazard waste in exam rooms daily.

Knowledge of the use of autoclave for sterilization of equipment and supplies.

Must work an evening shift (6:30/7:00) once per week and/or coverage during vacation or callouts.

Travel between three health centers located in Fall River, as needed.

Use of linguistic capacity required as part of the position when appropriate.
- Completion of medication reconciliation, vaccine reconciliation, and depression screening on all patients.

Other duties as required.
Experience and Skills:
Education & Experience
Requirements
-
Accredited school certification for Medical Assistant.

RMA certified, OR able to pass the exam within 90 days of hire (SSTAR covers the fee).

Current CPR certification.

Ability to multitask, stay organized, and communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to stay calm, focused, and compassionate with clients.

Ability to work well with other professionals and maintain proper boundaries.

Commitment to cultural competency and sensitivity to diversity.
Preferred

Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Portuguese).
