Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with lesson planning, preparation, and instructional delivery across various subjects including literacy, math, and social studies.
- Support students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning objectives, especially in areas such as literacy education, math, and behavior management.
- Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Provide specialized support for students with disabilities or autism, adapting activities to meet individual needs and promoting positive behavior.
- Help facilitate activities aligned with curriculum development frameworks like Montessori or preschool methodologies, including toddler care and preschool experiences.
- Support early childhood education initiatives by assisting with childcare routines, classroom organization, and developmental assessments.
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and caregivers to ensure a collaborative approach to student success.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as daycare, preschool, private schools, or similar environments.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
- Familiarity with special education strategies, behavior management techniques, and working with individuals with disabilities or autism.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, students, and families.
- Ability to assist in lesson planning and curriculum development tailored to elementary grades.
- Experience with classroom management tools and techniques that foster a positive learning atmosphere.
- Demonstrated commitment to working with children of all abilities in diverse settings such as Montessori or Toddler care environments.
