Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical components using OEM schematics and automotive diagnostics tools.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, and tractor-trailers.
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, soldering, and power tools to meet specific repair requirements.
- Execute tire service, alignment adjustments, air brake repairs, and suspension work to ensure safety and compliance standards are met.
- Operate heavy equipment safely during repair procedures and assist in equipment assembly or disassembly when necessary.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and ensure all work adheres to safety protocols and OEM specifications.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating repair statuses clearly and offering recommendations for preventative maintenance.
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engines; dealership experience is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and using diagnostic tools for automotive diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; experience with power tools is essential.
- Ability to perform complex repairs involving transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, HVAC systems, suspension components, and tire services.
- Familiarity with OEM parts specifications and the ability to interpret technical manuals for accurate repairs.
