Position: Regional Operations Manager

Job Overview: Reporting to the Marinas Division President, this position will be responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple marinas within a growing portfolio of marinas throughout the United States. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to drive operational excellence across diverse locations. This position requires a keen understanding of marina and rental boat fleet management, financial management, effective team leadership, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight:
- Collaborate with corporate office and other team members to develop and implement standardized operating procedures within the marina portfolio, including our rental boat fleets, to ensure consistency and efficiency across all locations.
- Oversee the adoption and implementation of new systems, policies, and procedures, with a focus on proper training and ongoing support to ensure organizational effectiveness.
Team Leadership:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to General Managers and other staff at each marina, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and support professional development initiatives.
Financial Management:
- Collaborate with corporate office to develop and manage operational budgets for each marina.
- Analyze financial reports, identify trends, and implement strategies to optimize profitability.
Customer Experience Enhancement:
- Champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring high-quality service and satisfaction for marina patrons.
- Implement initiatives to enhance customer experiences and loyalty across all locations.
Strategic Planning:
- Collaborate with corporate office to implement strategic plans for the marinas in alignment with company goals.
- Identify growth opportunities, assess market trends, and contribute to long-term business planning.
- Contribute to marketing strategies, collaborating with the marketing team to promote marina services and enhance brand visibility. Utilize technology and digital platforms to implement effective marketing campaigns, driving customer acquisition and engagement.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Foster open communication channels between marina teams and corporate leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and maintenance, to achieve common objectives.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Development:
- Establish and refine SOPs to optimize operational efficiency and consistency across all marinas.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs through regular training and performance monitoring.
Staff Support and Guidance:
- Offer ongoing support and guidance to marina staff, addressing challenges and providing solutions.
- Foster a collaborative and positive working environment to enhance team morale and productivity.
Frequent travel to assigned marina locations is an essential function of this position. The position requires approximately 30%–50% travel, including overnight travel and travel on short notice. The employee must also be able to work outside normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as business needs require. Candidates must be able to satisfy these requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Because frequent air travel is required, practical access to a commercial airport with regular scheduled passenger service may be considered in evaluating a candidate’s ability to meet the position’s travel requirements.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in marina management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Mastery of new and evolving technology and its integration into marina operations.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements in the marina industry.
- Experience implementing various revenue management techniques.
