Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Intermodal Dispatcher to coordinate the movement of freight via intermodal transportation. In this role, you will manage the scheduling and dispatching of containers across various modes of transport, utilizing advanced transportation management systems and GPS technology. Your communication skills will keep operations seamless while ensuring timely deliveries and optimal fleet utilization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Communicate daily with drivers regarding appointments, shipment status, and operational needs
- Monitor and respond to emails in a timely manner
- Review and verify container information, formatting, and rates
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating customer appointments
- Work closely with the dispatch team to ensure efficient daily operations
- Provide drivers and customers with accurate and timely information
- Maintain organized records and support dispatch operations as needed
Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to manage stressful situations with a professional demeanor
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PDF software
- Willingness to learn proprietary software including Profit Tools and EDI/Railbill
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to operate standard office equipment including multi-line phone systems
Trucking or transportation industry experience is required.
Training Paid training on company-specific software and processes will be provided.
Schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm | In-person at our Columbus, Ohio terminal
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
