Coding and 3D Printing TeacherJob Overview
Genius Lab STEAM Center is seeking an enthusiastic, creative, and energetic Coding and 3D Printing Teacher to inspire the next generation of innovators. In this role, you will teach elementary and middle school students through fun, hands on lessons that combine coding, engineering, robotics, and 3D design. You will create an engaging classroom environment where students build confidence, solve real world problems, and bring their ideas to life using technology.
This is a paid position that offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping children develop creativity, critical thinking, and a passion for STEAM.
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging coding and 3D printing classes for students ages 5 to 12 in small group settings
- Guide students through beginner and intermediate coding concepts using age appropriate platforms such as Scratch, Blockly, Python, and other educational programming tools
- Teach students how to design and create 3D models using software such as Tinkercad and prepare projects for 3D printing
- Operate and supervise the safe use of 3D printers while teaching students about the design and manufacturing process
- Develop fun, hands on lesson plans and projects that encourage creativity, teamwork, and problem solving
- Assist students in building coding projects, games, animations, robotics, and engineering challenges
- Create a positive, encouraging, and organized classroom where every student feels supported and excited to learn
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to students and parents when appropriate
- Help maintain classroom materials, computers, robotics equipment, and 3D printers
- Stay current with new educational technologies and incorporate fresh ideas into lessons
- Follow all safety procedures and help supervise students during classroom activities
Qualifications
- Experience teaching or working with children in a classroom, camp, after school program, or similar educational setting
- Experience with coding platforms such as Scratch, Blockly, Python, JavaScript, or similar programming languages
- Experience with 3D design software such as Tinkercad, Fusion 360, or equivalent is preferred
- Familiarity with 3D printers, basic troubleshooting, and printer maintenance is a plus
- Passion for STEAM education and helping children develop confidence through hands on learning
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts in a fun, simple, and engaging way
- Patient, dependable, energetic, and enthusiastic about working with children
- Robotics experience with LEGO SPIKE, VEX, micro, Arduino, or similar platforms is a plus
- Teaching certification is not required but educational experience is highly valued
