Join the Red Barn Coffee Roasters team as a Baker at our Westborough location, where you'll be at the heart of creating memorable coffee and beverage experiences for our customers. This energetic role offers the chance to showcase your passion for coffee, food service, and customer engagement. Pay: $16.00 per hour base pay
Average tips: $6.75 per hour
Typical total earnings: $22.75/hr including tips
Tips may vary based on shift, season, and customer traffic
Duties
- Work autonomously to prep and complete all baking for the cafe, which includes from frozen and refrigerated, baked, and finished prior to opening.
- Handle cash register operations, process cash transactions, and give correct change while maintaining attention to detail.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and dining areas by following food safety and sanitation standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders promptly, and ensuring their beverage needs are met with enthusiasm.
- Assist in food handling and preparation tasks to support café operations, including basic food prep when needed.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without compromising quality or safety standards.
Qualifications
- Previous baker experience or food service background preferred; familiarity with baked goods preparation is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction processing.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume periods.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks involved in beverage preparation and cleaning duties.
