Responsible for oversight of installation, operation, maintenance and repair of City owned stormwater system.
This position performs professional administrative work, directs the planning, construction, operations, and maintenance of the city owned stormwater infrastructure such as drains, culverts and stormwater ponds, to prevent flooding and ensure water quality. This position maintains the City’s MS4 permit and ensures that the city is in regulatory compliance with State and Federal environmental standards. This role manages teams, budgets, and capital improvement projects while acting as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and the public. Work is performed with considerable independence under the general supervision of the Director of Public Services or the Assistant Director of Public Services.
This position is exempt. Fair Labor Standards Act overtime provisions will not apply.

Works inside in an environmentally controlled space; but will intermittently work in adverse environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, and rain) for moderate periods of time. Exposed to construction and water/wastewater site hazards, traffic, and moving machinery. It is essential that the Public Services Manager is alert to safety hazards in the field.
