Project Manager - Industrial Services
Company: FabTek Industries
Location: Remote with frequent travel to client job-site. Must be based out of North Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama
Employment Type: Full-time
Reports To: Director of Industrial Services
About the Role
FabTek Industries is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead industrial equipment installation and fabrication projects from drawing review through final commissioning.
Your time will be spent quarterbacking client job sites, which includes frequent travel to client facilities and remaining onsite for the duration of an installation in order to effectively direct work crews, solve problems in real time, and serve as FabTek's face to the customer. This is not an office position with occasional site visits. If you are looking for a desk, this is not the right fit.
We are looking for someone who has come up through the metal trades, is comfortable running a multi-trade crew in an unfamiliar plant, and can keep engineers, crews, and customers moving in the same direction.
What You Will Do:
- Collaborate directly with engineers on equipment layouts, drawings, and design modifications
- Review and verify drawings and measurements in SolidWorks, coordinating dimensional details with the installation team before and during the install
- Travel to client jobsites and remain onsite for the duration of the installation, directing the work and representing FabTek to the customer
- Oversee and lead field crews of millwrights, welders, fabricators, and installers to complete projects safely, correctly, and on schedule
- Run daily onsite coordination — crew assignments, sequencing, material and equipment staging, and progress against schedule
- Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies and troubleshoot design issues in the field, keeping the project moving without waiting on a redesign
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and provide clear, timely project updates to upper management
- Coordinate schedules, manpower, material, and equipment across concurrent project phases
- Support mechanical piping scope where it falls within the project
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of relevant project management or industrial project experience. Candidates with 5–7 years of consistent experience in the poultry processing field will also be considered.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively and stay onsite at client facilities for the duration of a project
- Demonstrated experience working and collaborating with engineers on equipment layouts, drawings, and modifications
- Strong communication skills with both upper management and customers
- Proven ability to lead a multi-trade crew — millwrights, welders, fabricators, and installers — and deliver a project on schedule
- Strong problem-solving ability, specifically resolving drawing discrepancies and troubleshooting design issues in the field
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, or a comparable 3D CAD application such as Inventor, Solid Edge, Creo, NX, or Fusion 360 — enough to open models and drawings, check dimensions and measurements, and coordinate with the installation team
- Hands-on background in the metal trades: welding, fabrication, and equipment installation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mechanical piping
- Familiarity with AutoCAD in addition to SolidWorks
- Prior experience in food or poultry processing facilities
Travel, Schedule & Location:
- Travel: This position is predominantly field-based. Expect to be onsite at client facilities the majority of the time, traveling to and staying near the jobsite for the length of each project.
- Work days: Wednesday–Monday when the schedule is full; Thursday–Monday under a normal schedule
- Home base: Candidates must be based in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, or Alabama. You do not need to live near our Gallman, MS office, but you should be positioned to reach jobsites across the region.
Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Health insurance
- Paid time off
Work Location: On the road
