Job Overview
The Reinforcing Production Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Reinforcing Division Manager by managing inventory, coordinating production activities, and helping ensure smooth day-to-day office operations. This role is responsible for tracking materials, updating production records, supporting scheduling, taking retail calls, and assisting with communication between the office and production teams. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Use measuring instruments and interpret technical drawings to verify dimensions and quality standards during reinforcement processes
- Collaborate with team members to assemble reinforcement components accurately, following manufacturing documentation and process guidelines
- Participate in process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting solutions to enhance productivity
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records for reinforcing materials and related supplies
- Monitor stock levels and notify the manager of shortages, overages, or reorder needs
- Track production progress and update internal records as jobs move through the process
- Assist with production scheduling, job coordination, and workflow organization
- Enter, review, and maintain production and inventory data in office systems
- Prepare reports, logs, and other documentation as required
- Communicate with suppliers, drivers, and internal departments as needed
- Support the Reinforcing Division Manager with administrative and operational tasks
- Verify material counts, job details, and production documentation for accuracy
- Help resolve inventory or production issues in a timely manner
- Maintain organized files, records, and office documentation related to the division
- Conduct routine inspections of tools, equipment, and materials to maintain safety protocols and operational efficiency
- Be able to take Retail Orders, and schedule those orders with the Reinforcing Division Manager
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, or 3-5 years of Industry Experience
- Proven factory or manufacturing facility experience, preferably within a reinforcement or assembly environment
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and safety standards in production environments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, including manual handling of materials and components
- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication skills for interpreting production documents and collaborating effectively
- Demonstrated commitment to safety protocol adherence and continuous process improvement
- Experience in inventory control, production coordination, office administration, or manufacturing support
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or inventory or production software
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and support a team environment
- Knowledge of reinforcing steel, construction materials, or manufacturing operations is an asset
We are looking for a Reinforcing Production Assistant to join the office staff who can aid Production, keep track of material/consumable inventory, and who is great a customer relations. This is a pivotal position we are looking at adding to the team, to continue the exponential growth of JD Steel Co., Inc.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
