Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Drive sales of specialty chemical products, including para-aramid fibers and converted materials (yarns, fabrics, and composites)
- Develop and expand relationships with key industrial customers while actively prospecting new business opportunities
- Manage the full sales pipeline, from lead generation through deal closure
- Participate in regular sales and market intelligence meetings (weekly, bi-weekly, and quarterly) to track performance and forecast revenue
- Provide accurate sales forecasts and insights to support operational planning and product innovation
- Identify emerging market trends and customer needs to inform strategic growth initiatives
Customer Relationship Management & Market Intelligence
- Manage and grow existing accounts while developing new customer relationships
- Oversee and support sales representatives, including onboarding and development of new reps
- Resolve customer issues by investigating concerns, developing solutions, and providing recommendations to management
- Monitor competitive landscape, pricing strategies, and industry developments to strengthen market positioning
- Maintain detailed reporting, including daily call reports, weekly activity plans, and monthly/annual territory analyses
- Ensure consistent communication with leadership regarding sales performance and market conditions
Industry Engagement & Professional Development
- Stay current on industry trends through trade shows, professional organizations, workshops, and publications
- Build and maintain a strong understanding of global business practices and cross-cultural communication
- Represent the company in industry events and networking opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in sales, business development, or account management within specialty chemicals, advanced materials, or related industries
- Experience selling into defense, aerospace, automotive, or industrial markets
- Proven ability to develop new business and manage a sales pipeline effectively
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret market intelligence
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
