West County Net is looking for a hands-on SEO & Paid Search Specialist to join our on-site digital marketing and web development teams.
In this role, you will help clients increase their visibility across traditional search engines, paid search platforms, and emerging AI-powered answer engines. You’ll work across SEO, SEM/PPC, Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) to drive qualified website traffic, leads, and measurable business results.
You’ll collaborate with experienced marketers, content specialists, developers, and business strategists on a diverse portfolio of local and national clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a search marketing professional who enjoys analyzing data, solving problems, and turning insights into practical strategies.
SEO and Organic Search
- Develop and execute SEO strategies based on client goals, keyword research, competitor analysis, and search performance.
- Conduct technical and on-page SEO audits and prioritize opportunities for improvement.
- Work with developers to address indexing, crawlability, site structure, page speed, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects, and other technical issues.
- Optimize website content, title tags, meta descriptions, internal linking, headings, and landing pages for search visibility and conversions.
- Monitor organic traffic, keyword rankings, conversions, and search visibility using Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Semrush, Microsoft Clarity, and related tools.
- Stay current with search engine updates and evolving SEO best practices.
Paid Search and SEM/PPC
- Build, manage, and optimize paid search campaigns using Google Ads, PMAX, Google Shopping, Local Pickup
- Conduct paid keyword research and develop campaign structures, ad groups, audience strategies, and negative keyword lists.
- Write and test search ads and collaborate on conversion-focused landing pages.
- Monitor budgets, bids, search terms, click-through rates, conversion rates, cost per lead, and return on advertising spend.
- Identify opportunities to improve campaign efficiency, lead quality, and attribution.
- Coordinate paid and organic search strategies to improve overall search visibility.
AEO and GEO
- Optimize client content for visibility in AI-generated answers, featured snippets, conversational search, and large language model–powered search experiences.
- Structure content around user questions, search intent, entities, topical authority, and clear, fact-based answers.
- Suggest or create useful, authoritative, well-organized content that can be understood and cited by search engines and AI systems.
- Monitor emerging AEO and GEO practices and test practical strategies as AI search continues to evolve.
- Evaluate brand and content visibility across relevant AI-powered search and answer platforms.
Analytics, Reporting, and Collaboration
- Configure and improve conversion tracking, reporting dashboards, and campaign measurement.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, issues, and growth opportunities.
- Prepare clear client reports that explain results, insights, priorities, and next steps.
- Communicate recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with developers, designers, content specialists, account managers, and marketing strategists to implement recommendations.
- Balance multiple client accounts, deadlines, and priorities in an agency environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Three or more years of hands-on SEO or search marketing experience.
- Demonstrated experience improving organic search visibility, qualified traffic, conversions, or lead generation.
- Working experience with paid search campaign management in Google Ads.
- Proficiency with Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console.
- Experience with tools such as Semrush, Microsoft Clarity, Screaming Frog, Looker Studio, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of keyword research, search intent, on-page optimization, content optimization, and competitor analysis.
- Practical knowledge of technical SEO, including crawling, indexing, structured data, internal linking, page speed, and site architecture.
- An understanding of AEO and GEO principles or a strong interest in applying established SEO and content practices to emerging AI search platforms.
- Ability to interpret performance data and turn it into clear, prioritized recommendations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain search strategies and results to clients and colleagues who may not have a technical background.
- Curiosity, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning.
Helpful, but Not Required
- Google Ads or Google Analytics certification.
- Experience working in a digital agency or managing multiple client accounts.
- Familiarity with local SEO and Google Business Profile optimization.
- Experience with WordPress or other content management systems.
- Familiarity with conversion rate optimization, call tracking, CRM attribution, or landing-page testing.
- Experience implementing schema markup or working directly with development teams.
