QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN OT SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR
Education: High School graduate with a minimum of an Associate's degree in computer related training courses. Bachelor's degree in computer related degree or engineering preferred. Experience can be used in lieu of degree.
Experience: Minimum of TEN years' experience working with computer systems, electrical power systems, SCADA or other related industry software.
Knowledge: Must have a working knowledge of Windows operating systems, LINUX systems (preferred) and Microsoft Office software package utilized at the Delaware Electric Cooperative. Willingness and ability to learn knowledge of theory, network operations, components and configuration of data communication networks from a network administrator and network engineering perspective.
Other job requirements will include but are not limited to:
Daily oversight and operation of the load management system, SCADA system and operation of the LAN/WAN network within System Control Group. Maintains, monitors and manages all SCADA communications, OT servers and processes.
Supervises the distribution of troubleshooting and maintenance to the necessary departments as needed upon review of Daily alarms. Works within the System Control Department to repair, replace or upgrade communication devices. Works with field technicians to troubleshoot simple repairs to SCADA equipment, communication equipment and other technologies.
Supervises and directs installation of components for the Load Management System and potential enhancements.
Manage and coordinate with ODEC, DPL and/or PJM to complete all DEC load transfer and outage requests.
Coordinates daily tasks of load control within the goals and objectives of the System Control group. Determines the need for load control and executes the load control process including routine calls to ODEC, evaluation of recommendations, initiation of Load Control, and notification to consumers and employees of Load Control actions and status.
Review Load Control forecasting and recommendations from all sources (internal, external, AI, etc...) to determine accuracy. Make recommendations on possible vendors and software to enhance our load control effectiveness.
Monitors, adjusts, and updates information and data within the load control system to utilize interruptible capabilities most efficiently. Maintains each system database to ensure effective and proper operation and performs necessary tasks to keep the systems functioning at all times.
