The Chief Nursing Officer will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for clinical practice standards, operational oversight of Nursing Services, and ensuring the delivery of safe, high-quality, and therapeutic care.

Direct the provision of 24/7 nursing services across the facility.

Develop, implement, and revise corporate, facility, and Nursing Services policies in alignment with Medical Staff Bylaws and organizational goals.

Evaluate program quality, nursing performance, and clinical effectiveness.

Establish and monitor methods to evaluate nursing care practices; initiate research and performance improvement initiatives.

Partner with the CEO to develop short- and long-term goals for Nursing Services.

Create and lead nursing committees to support quality, safety, and patient care standards.

Apply strategic problem-solving to support organizational goals and operational efficiency.

Develop, justify, and manage the annual department budget.

Collaborate with facility leadership to optimize programming and patient experience.

Ensure all Nursing Services manuals and documentation remain current and compliant.

Oversee patient admissions, discharges, and transfers to ensure continuity of care.

Meet regularly with Program Managers, the Medical Director, and clinical teams to ensure compliance with program goals.

Serve on facility committees as assigned.

Act as a role model, mentor, and resource for nursing staff to support excellence in clinical practice.
Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:
- Education & Licensure: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of nursing; Master’s Degree in psychiatric nursing or related field required. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
- Experience: A minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a CNO, in administration, and/or in dedicated leadership experience in psychiatric nursing.
- Additional Skill Requirements: A thorough knowledge of The Joint Commission, Medicare, OSHA regulations, and all other state and federal regulatory standards.

This is a full-time executive role with a competitive salary of $140,000 to $170,000 annually, plus quarterly and annual bonus opportunities.
