We are looking for a professional, reliable, and friendly captain to join our team here at SNUBA of Key West!
We run three different vessels doing dive trips, sunset cruises, and private charters on the beautiful waters surrounding Key West, FL.
For those who may be unfamiliar with SNUBA, we are the largest affiliated dive organization in the world with SNUBA recreation centers everywhere from Aruba to Taiwan. For most of our guests, this is their first diving experience, and our guides are responsible for providing a fun and safe environment. This dive experience is similar to a hotel resort course, with only slight differences. The tank remains on the surface in a floating raft, and guests are equipped with regulators attached to an air hose 20 feet in length. Guests can breathe easily underwater without wearing heavy, restrictive dive gear, allowing them to glide effortlessly under the surface while exploring the marine life. Trips typically last from 3 to 4 hours, from check-in to drop off. We run two SNUBA trips and a sunset cocktail cruise on our 47" power catamaran each day.
SNUBA of Key West operates 365 days per year. While other dive operators slow down during off-seasons, SNUBA of Key West is consistently busy. Our captains' income is above the normal rate, starting at $100 per trip for trips with up to 9 guests and increasing based on guest count up to $200 for 25 guests, per trip, plus tips! It is very common for our trips to have around 25 guests. Trips are 3 to 4 hours in duration depending on the number of guests.

SNUBA Captains are responsible for SNUBA dive charters while maintaining safety for customers and crew. The safety of passengers, crew and equipment is their most important responsibility. Captains are responsible for mentoring the crew in safe boating practices and continually teaching good seamanship. Captains are also in charge of ensuring safe diving practices are conducted and ensuring that dive operations adhered to PADI standards. SNUBA Key West captains are expected to interact with our guests and ensure that they have a positive, fun, and safe experience. Exceptional customer service skills, diplomacy, good manners, and tact are paramount.
Applicants must be DEPENDABLE, drug-free, family-friendly, punctual, and customer service oriented.
REQUIRED: Valid 50 Ton License or above, experience on a dive boat, live in or near Key West, have experience on a 40' or above catamaran with twin outboards and be able to lift 50 pounds.
Preferred: PADI Rescue Diver or above
