Energy Risk Management Advisory
The opportunity:
This is a hybrid sales-development role, combining support of an established book of business with direct new-business development. It is not a hybrid work arrangement; the position is based in our Dallas office five days per week.
You will work directly alongside a senior Energy Advisor and gain exposure to the full client lifecycle — from prospecting and client meetings to procurement strategy, supplier negotiations, contracting, renewals, and account management. You will also earn additional compensation for the businesses you help support and close.
The position is designed to build the knowledge, experience, and client-development skills required to ultimately originate and manage your own book of business.
What you will do:
- Partner with a Senior Energy Advisor to support and grow an established portfolio of commercial and industrial clients.
- Develop a detailed understanding of each client’s energy needs, procurement strategy, contract portfolio, risk objectives, and upcoming opportunities.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, procurement events, supplier negotiations, renewals, and ongoing account management.
- Coordinate with pricing, procurement, operations, and client-service teams to ensure accurate and timely execution of transactions and client requests.
- Build trusted client relationships and identify opportunities for new and renewal business.
- Learn Tradition Energy’s sales process, energy market fundamentals, supplier landscape, and approach to developing customized procurement strategies.
- Develop new business through cold calling, networking, referrals, email outreach, social media, and other targeted prospecting activities.
- Clearly communicate Tradition Energy’s value proposition and energy risk-management services to prospective clients.
- Take on increasing responsibility for originating and managing business, with the long-term objective of developing and managing your own book.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Demonstrated success in sales, business development, client service, or relationship management.
- Motivated to build a long-term career in large commercial and industrial consultative sales and ultimately develop an independent book of business.
- Curious, coachable, and eager to learn both the commercial and technical sides of energy procurement.
- Comfortable taking ownership while working closely with and learning from a senior Energy Advisor.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple clients, transactions, deadlines, and priorities.
- Competitive, resilient, and professional, with the persistence required to succeed in business development.
