Join our dynamic team as a Bilingual Community Programs Specialist, where your passion for community engagement and social impact will drive meaningful change. In this role, you will develop, coordinate, and implement community programs tailored to diverse populations, with a focus on underserved communities. Responsibilities
- Provide culturally responsive support, guidance, and follow-up to individuals and families participating in GROW Initiative GA programs.
- Assist participants with identifying needs, understanding available resources, completing forms, and connecting to appropriate community services.
- Build trusting relationships with participants, families, community members, partner organizations, schools, churches, clinics, and local agencies.
- Support outreach, recruitment, enrollment, and participant engagement for GROW programs and services.
- Represent GROW Initiative GA at community events, outreach activities, partner meetings, resource fairs, classes, and program sites.
- Facilitate bilingual literacy instruction for adults and/or children using GROW’s curriculum, materials, and program guidelines.
- Create a welcoming, respectful, and supportive learning environment for participants from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Communicate with participants and families regarding program schedules, expectations, assignments, referrals, resources, and follow-up needs.
- Assist with preparing materials for classes, workshops, outreach events, presentations, and community activities.
- Maintain accurate records of participant contacts, referrals, attendance, outreach activities, assessments, and program outcomes.
- Support program evaluation through surveys, feedback forms, assessments, data tracking, and participant follow-up.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow all organizational policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director, staff, contractors, volunteers, and community partners to support program implementation and community impact.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and operations of GROW Initiative GA.
Qualifications
Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
● Haitian Creole or another language is a plus.
● Experience working with families, children, adults, immigrants, low-income
communities, or vulnerable populations.
● Experience in teaching, tutoring, community outreach, case management,
navigation, social services, health education, or nonprofit programming.
● Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
● Ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural, linguistic, and
socioeconomic backgrounds.
● Strong attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
● Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
● Comfortable making phone calls, sending emails/texts, conducting follow-up, and
documenting services.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
● Must be dependable, flexible, and comfortable working in both office and
community settings.
● Must be available for some evening and weekend programming.
● Reliable transportation required.
Preferred Qualifications
● Experience teaching English, Spanish, bilingual literacy, ESL, adult education, or
children’s literacy.
● Experience with community health, public benefits, family support, disability
services, or resource navigation.
● Experience working with nonprofit organizations or community-based programs.
● Familiarity with Coastal Georgia community resources.
● Experience using Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Canva, Google
Classroom, or basic data tracking systems.
● Community Health Worker certification, interpretation experience, or
trauma-informed training preferred but not required.

Physical & Work Requirements
● Ability to travel to community locations, partner sites, outreach events, and class
locations.
● Ability to occasionally lift and carry program materials, books, supplies, or
outreach items up to 25 lbs.
● Ability to work in office, classroom, community, and event settings.
● Some evening and weekend availability required.
Background Check
Employment or contract engagement may be contingent upon successful completion of
